Terms of use

Last updated 5 November 2026. These terms apply when you create a buyOS account or use the buyOS register. By signing up you agree to them on behalf of your business.

1. The service

buyOS is a point of sale that runs in your browser. It records sales, keeps stock and customer lists, shows your numbers and connects to Stripe so your customers can pay by card. The register is free. We may add paid features later and will tell you before anything you use starts to cost money.

2. Your account

3. Your business, your obligations

4. Card payments

5. Data

Your shop’s data belongs to you. We use it to run the service as described in our Privacy notice and Data promise, including anonymous benchmarks that combine at least 10 shops, which you can switch off. Where you store your customers’ details in buyOS, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so, and we process those details only on your instructions.

6. Fair use

Do not try to access other shops’ data, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to send spam. We may suspend accounts that put other shops or the service at risk.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep buyOS available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” and may sometimes be unavailable. Keep a way to take payment if your internet connection fails. We may change or improve features and will give notice of material changes to these terms.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, buyOS is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid to buyOS in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using buyOS at any time and ask us to export or delete your data. We may end an account that breaks these terms. Fees already earned on completed payments are not refunded.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected]. The company that operates buyOS and the law that governs these terms will be named here once registration is complete.
